Vernard Clinkscales
Bruce Davidson
Girl With the Bird Cage

Education: Attended Rochester Institute of Technology and Yale University.
Upbringing: Was born to a single mother. At the age of 10 is when he first started taking pictures when his mother made him a dark room. He later met a local photographer who taught him the technical nuances of photography. He later began roaming Chicago developing his skills in photography. At 16, Davidson won his first major photography award, the Kodak National High School snapshot contest.
Art Experience: Davisdon has published more than 800 pictures and some of them people havent seen before. Also became a member of the Magnum group.

Artist Background: bruce Davidson is basically known for photography, which means he doesn’t do other work other than taking photos. The closest thing to the reason why Bruce is a photographer because when he was young his mother made a dark room for him to freelance and take pictures. Then later he met photographer who had taught him some mor ething about photography. Josef Albers could be the one who inspired him to become a photographer he helped him during college. Bruce Davidson did a lot of work during the Civil Rights Movement that made him more famous for his work.

I selected this image because it stands out to me. Its ironic how the lady is sleeping in the weirdest spot, which relates to me cause I would do something like that. From and artistic point of view I don’t know why I choose this. The Photographers style would be like he likes to take pictures of people during shoing emotions or how life is something along those lines. What I found interesting about him is that he did time in the military which made me think that’s probablly why he took part in the Civil War with photos, because he actually understands it. I plan on recreating this imae by puttin effects and color in certrain spots. I tend on recreating his photos by taking the ones with the gangs and single person shots.

This photo appeals to me because of the colors and its graphic. I like how there is the shinning light being surrounded by darkness. To me it symbolizes something but that I can’t figure out.
